Wesley College is dedicated to making world-class education accessible. We offer a range of distinct scholarship types to help students from all backgrounds achieve their full potential:
Combined Academic and Music Scholarship: Awarded to a student who excels in both academic testing and their music audition. 听
Academic Scholarships: These scholarships recognise and reward students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
Council Entrance Scholarships: Introduced in 1954 and awarded each year to the top three academic students.
General Excellence Scholarships: Acknowledgement for students who mirror the College鈥檚 core values of Respect, Compassion, Integrity, and Courage.
Music Scholarships: Celebrating artistic talent, these scholarships provide a nurturing environment for musically gifted students to flourish.
Rural Scholarships: Offer the opportunity for students living in regional Western Australia to be part of our supportive and inclusive community.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships: Financial awards aimed at supporting Indigenous Australians in their pursuit of higher education.
Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to their academic studies and a willingness to engage in the full life of the College. Scholarship candidates will be reviewed through a mix of application letters, recent school reports, testing, interviews, and music auditions.

Scholarships
Scholarships provide partial remission of varying levels (up to 50%) on tuition fees, and boarding fees, where applicable.
Scholarship entry is available for both day and boarding admission, with a number of rural scholarships awarded specifically to support students from regional Western Australia. Regional students preferring entry in Year 8 2026 should apply now.
Year 7 2025 Scholarships are open to external students and current Wesley students.
Please note, to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
Council Music Scholarship (combined Academic and Music scholarship)
Up to 50% remission on tuition fees, and 100% instrumental tuition fees for one instrument
Applicants must complete online applications for both Academic examinations and Music.
ES Craft Music Scholarship (Music Scholarship)
75% of the cost of instrumental tuition fees for one instrument
Applicants should complete the music scholarship online application
Lamont Pipe Organ Scholarship (Music Scholarship)
This scholarship covers 75% of Pipe Organ tuition fees, but may be increased to cover 100% of instrumental tuition fees in future years, at the discretion of the Head of Music.
Applicants must currently be learning a keyboard instrument (piano, organ, keyboard, piano accordion)
Scholarships are available for the following instruments:
Strings 鈥� cello, viola, violin and double bass.
Woodwind 鈥� bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe and saxophone.
Brass 鈥� euphonium, French horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, baritone.
Keyboard/contemporary instruments 鈥� electric bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, percussion and drums, piano and Vocal (Classic and Contemporary).
Music Audition Process
It consists of performing two contrasting pieces (accompanied or unaccompanied) and a short interview. The panel consists of the Head of Music and a specialist member of the instrumental staff. Each audition takes approximately 15 minutes.
A number of endowed scholarships are available to students currently enrolled at other schools. A remission of up to 50% may be offered on tuition fees (and boarding fees, if applicable).
OWCA Mildred Manning Scholarship
Named after beloved, and long-serving staff member, Mildred Manning. This scholarship is awarded to a talented, external student who demonstrates strong academic endeavour, commitment to excellence, and a breadth of involvement beyond academic studies.
General Excellence Scholarships
A number of General Excellence Scholarships are available to support a well-rounded student, committed to achieving their personal best (both day and boarding applications will be considered).
The Year 10 scholarships are awarded to a talented student on the basis of academic merit (as evidenced by the examination results and current school reports) and a personal interview. The successful candidate must demonstrate sound academic progress and leadership, along with a commitment to an all-round involvement in the life of the College.
Please note, students studying on a Student Visa are ineligible to apply.
Wesley is proud to offer scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys from rural, regional and metropolitan areas in Australia who will enter Years 7-10 in 2025. The top scholarship student will be awarded the Bass FamilyIndigenous Scholarship.
Applicants will be chosen according to their current academic progress, proven ability to study, family support, and willingness to contribute to the Wesley College community. Leadership qualities and commitment to achieve excellence in his chosen field will also be recognised as part of the selection criteria. Applicants must be Western Australian and eligible for Abstudy.
A number of scholarships are offered in conjunction with MADALAH Limited – a not-for-profit organisation that offers secondary and tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students, primarily from remote and regional communities, to WA鈥檚 leading boarding schools and Australian universities. MADALAH secondary scholarships provide support to students from Years 7 -12. These scholarships are administered by MADALAH on behalf of the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). We are a partner school with MADALAH and therefore enrolled students may be eligible. For more information please visit their .
As trustee of the Mildred Manning Scholarship Trust, the OWCA is proud to offer the son, stepson or grandson of an Old Wesleyan the opportunity to receive the OWCA Presidents鈥� Award. This scholarship is open to both prospective and current Wesley students entering Year 11 2025 and provides a 25% rebate on tuition fees.
The Presidents鈥� Award is judged primarily on the criteria of 鈥榓ll round鈥� attainment. Past recipients have demonstrated outstanding contribution and achievement across many disciplines, including academic excellence, leadership, co-curricular and community service.
Applicants must be the son, stepson, or grandson of an Old Wesleyan.
Open to both prospective and current Wesley students entering Year 11 in 2025.

Bursaries
In line with our Uniting Church ethos, Wesley College has a proud history of providing educational opportunities for students who would not normally have the means to attend the College. We embrace a diverse community and we all benefit from this.
Needs-Based Bursaries (Years 7 鈥� 11)
A number of needs-based bursaries are available to support a well-rounded and committed student who demonstrates sound academic achievement, but who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Wesley College.
A bursary application may be submitted independent of the scholarship process. Bursaries are awarded by the Head of Wesley College, in consultation with the Director of Finance, and they are non-public, confidential awards, treated in the strictest of confidence. Usually, these bursaries offer a 25% rebate, but they can be 50% in exceptional circumstances. Applicants and their families need to demonstrate a commitment toward, and empathy with, an independent education in a Uniting Church context.
Students who live in rural areas are given special consideration, but day admission will also be considered.
Howard Bantock Memorial Trust Bursary
This named bursary is given to a student who demonstrates an ’empathy for religious thinking and who is demonstrating qualities of Christian stewardship’. It is a needs-based award and the value varies according to need, and the availability of funds. Where applicable, the rebate is additionally applied to the boarding fee.
